THE FACES OF DISPLACEMENT
July 2026
Team Zamzam was fortunate to escape the April 2025 destruction of Zamzam IDP camp. Many thousands of people died during the brutal assault and in the deadly aftermath of flight in all directions. Many, including Team Zamzam, made the harrowing journey across North Darfur to Tina/Tiné on the Chad border. Transportation was—and is—highly erratic and unorganized, extremely dangerous, and very expensive.
Many tens of thousands of refugees continue to flee the Rapid Support Forces, crossing into eastern Chad on a daily basis, often without possessions, food, shelter, water, or money.
These are the people Team Zamzam is assisting in Bami Jura refugee camp, with the assistance of donors to Project Zamzam:

How to Help Project Zamzam
It is now possible to make a tax-deductible contribution to our project, using a portal on the website of a 501/c/3 organization operating in Sudan. Operation Broken Silence, working primarily on health and education issues in the Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan, has created a special site for tax-deductible contributions to our project, and we hope this makes contributing to the health and well-being of Darfuri refugees in Chad (many having fled the destruction of Zamzam) easier for donors.
