OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT PROJECT ZAMZAM, March 21, 2026
Food can still be purchased and distributed, but crossing the wadi separating Tina and Tiné will remain unsafe—and impossible once the seasonal rains begin in June and waters surge through the wadi. The counselors will assist those on the Darfur side of this twin town will be assisted only when circumstances permit, even as there are tens of thousands, many having fled from the RSF destruction of El Fasher.
Movement by UN agencies and international relief organizations is already badly hampered and will be even more difficult once the rains begin in earnest. Given dramatic cuts in funding for even the most essential programs, the future looks grim.
I make an especial appeal to those in the United States to help us prepare for food shortages during the rainy season…please consider purchasing one of my woodturnings: all proceeds from all sales provide relief aid to a desperately needy population.
