Please help support “Team Zamzam in Exile”
Team Zamzam has been forced to flee Zamzam IDP camp, but is now working hard with the huge refugee surge from North Darfur in the area of Tiné, eastern Chad. More than 100,000 former Zamzam IDP camp residents have fled to the area and are in urgent need of food, shelter, medicine, and water. Team Zamzam has already begun to aid as many of these desperate people as possible (see the photographic album of these first efforts here).
You can help fund the purchase of food and shelter (the heavy seasonal rains are coming and far too many people and families have no shelter at all):
Please make a tax-deductible contribution to our project, using a portal on the website of a 501/c/3 organization operating in Sudan. Operation Broken Silence, working primarily on health and education issues in the Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan, has created a special site for tax-deductible contributions to our project, and we hope this makes contributing to the health and well-being of for the desperate refugees from Zamzam and other locations in North Darfur.
We also hope that all will keep in mind our project as a whole operates with truly extraordinary efficiency, in ways matched by no humanitarian organization operating in Darfur that I am aware of, a region I have been researching for two decades. There is absolutely no overhead expense for this project.
