Russian-built Sukhoi-24

Khartoum is accelerating its aerial attacks on civilians in both South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.  While the mainstay of the air force remains crude Antonov “bombers” (retrofitted cargo planes that are highly inaccurate, and useless for real military purposes), there has been significantly greater deployment of the Sukhoi 24, a modern, accurate air-to-ground military aircraft.  It was an attack by a Sukhoi-24 that did most damage to the Mother of Mercy Hospital in Gidel (near Kauda in the Nuba Mountains), an attack confirmed in detail by Dr. Tom Catena, who is the only surgeon working in the Nuba.
